After being let in, my sister and I had to wait on Mary to come back downstairs. My stepmother thought that the life insurance would cover the cost of the funeral, but unfortunately, it did not, so we had to pay out of pocket for the funeral. My sister and I went back up to the funeral home the next morning and explained the situation to Mary. We had to wait outside in the cold for a longer period of time because they kept the doors locked, which I found to be very weird, to begin with. I have never been to a funeral home where the doors were locked during the day.
